What to expect

The purpose of this Church shall be to proclaim and propagate the Christian faith and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. We are committed to nurturing spiritual growth within each believer, cultivating a deeper relationship with God, and equipping the saints for faithful service. Through worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and outreach, we seek to strengthen the body of Christ and advance the Kingdom of God in our community and beyond.

Pillars of the Church

Sound Doctrine

Preaching and teaching the WORD of GOD. This ministry is committed to submitting to Biblical truth and God’s Word is our FINAL authority.

John 1:1-3, 14; Romans 10:17

Prayer

Prayer is an essential part of our faith. It is our direct communication line to our Creator in the name of Jesus Christ. We are committed to being a ministry devoted to prayer in our personal walks and corporately.

Supporting Scriptures: Acts 1:14 & 2:1-4; Jeremiah 33:3; Mark 11:22-26; Luke 18:1; Matthew 6:5

The Triune Nature of God

The Lord our God is One, expressed eternally through God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Supporting Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4–9; Matthew 3:16; Romans 1:20

Giving to the Poor

We are mandated as believers to not only provide for those who are poor in spirit but also for those who are in need. Pray First is dedicated to being a resource for the community by providing help in any capacity by the leading of the Holy Spirit and sharing the love of Jesus Chrsit to the nations. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world”. James 1:27

Baptism

Water baptism and baptism of the Holy Spirit are both equally important according to the Word of God. One must confess with their mouth and believe with their heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, died, was buried, and rose from the dead. The submersion in water symbolizes burying the old man and coming up as a new creation.

John 3:5; Romans 10:9-10

Justification

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE, apart from works. Our works cannot save us because they are filthy rags to God. This is why God came in the flesh, to make atonement for our sins once and for all. Salvation is a FREE GIFT accounted to us as righteousness.

Supporting Scriptures: Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-10

Holiness is a Requirement

“Be ye holy for the Lord your God is holy.” Our acceptance of Jesus means we have declared Him both Lord (Master) and Savior (Deliverer) over our lives. He has given us His Spirit to overcome the temptation of sin and death. We believe in yielding and submitting to the Spirit of Holiness and trusting Him to enable us to become more like Christ. 1 Peter 1:15-16; Acts 5: 19-26

Biblical Feasts

We celebrate God’s feasts and the biblical sabbath because not only did the Father command it, but the Lord Jesus observed them also. All feasts are a foreshadow of Christ: His Coming, His Death, His Resurrection, and His Return. Our ministry has been tasked by God to connect the Old and New Testament through these Holy Feasts and we are simply being obedient to call. Matthew 26:17; John 7:37-39; 1 Corinthians 5:8; Colossians 2:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We hold Sabbath services every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. via YouTube. In addition, we gather for an in-person service once a month in Maryland.

For more information, please search “Pray First Church” on YouTube.

  • This Church was founded upon the principle of praying first in all things. We believe that prayer is foundational to spiritual growth, direction, and the fulfillment of God’s purpose within the body of Christ.

We also embrace the principle of “watering” as taught in 1 Corinthians 3:6, recognizing that spiritual growth requires intentional nurturing and faithful discipleship. For this reason, we are committed to consistent biblical instruction through our Thursday afternoon Bible studies, as well as through individual counseling and one-on-one Bible study opportunities.

We believe in walking alongside one another in faith—taking the necessary time to carefully study, explain, and apply the Scriptures. Our desire is to cultivate a safe, supportive, and spiritually enriching environment where individuals feel free to say, “I still do not understand,” and receive patient guidance and encouragement.

  • We believe that those who commit themselves to the local church can expect to receive faithful pastoral care and spiritual nourishment as outlined above. Through this commitment, believers are encouraged to grow into healthy, functioning, mature, and overcoming Christians.

Church membership also provides opportunities for spiritual gifts and ministries to be recognized, developed, encouraged, refined, and properly supported within the covering and accountability of the local church body.
