Be without Distraction
Be without Distractions
If you know me then you know that I love the books of Apostle Paul, and everything that he wrote in the bible. Why?... I feel as though he understands Grace and the Love of God, and that is something that has always pulled me in.
It took me a while to get an understanding on God’s love, and truthfully, I’m still not there as of yet…

While reading 1 Corinthians 7 I came across the word DISTRACTION and Pauls’ concerns for us, and I felt like sharing my thoughts with you, is that okay? Okay cool...
Currently in your walk with God, Are you being distracted by anything? As a matter of fact, not just in your walk with God but are you being distracted from your pain, hurt, growth, etc.
Let me add that this post is mostly about singleness and relationships.
Paul starts off by saying,
“Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife.”
...which confused the heck out of me because he’s saying, if you are married DO NOT seek to be freed, and if you are single, DO NOT seek to find someone.
In some ways I can understand because as human-beings it’s natural for two people in a marriage to clash, but we should NEVER seek to be freed. Might I add, I think people should stop saying wedding vows because most marriages fail because people went back on promises they made in their vows.
“And if we are single, DO NOT seek to find a wife.” I agree with this wholeheartedly because we blindfold ourselves mentally when we eagerly seek after a thing. We block out reality and allow our heart, emotions and thoughts to lead us.
Then He said,
“But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none,” (vice versa)
WHAT!!! Even those who have wives should be as they have none? This will make sense later...
He starts off the next verse by saying,
“But I want you to be without care.”
He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord… how he may please the Lord. But, he who is married cares about the things of the world… how he may please his wife. A man that is married must put his wife at the top of the totem pole. Yes, he serves the Lord, but he must serve his wife, also… and sometimes, serving the two MIGHT clash.
There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. Paul’s thoughts are, a single woman can focus better on the Lord and herself when a man isn’t in the picture. But, she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. YERRRRRR lol. Same goes for the married woman, she must please her husband along with pleasing the Lord. “And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction.”
No matter how amazing you are, you can still be a distraction. We were all made uniquely different, but we all still have the same DNA stand. What I’m trying to say is, we all have our own individual purpose in life, but as the body of Christ, we still have the same purpose. We are different, but we are very much the same.
I say that to say this, we are very influencing.
For example, usually we make people our partners in our heads before it happens in reality. So it’s very much possible for a person to be absent physically, yet they’re still distracting you mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually.
Cherish wherever you are right now!!
That sums it up....
And where he said “those who are with someone should act like they’re not”...
That just means, make sure you’re with someone that doesn’t DISTRACT you from God and from your GROWTH!
